For the month of October 2022 we will be celebrating Black History Month. We will be exploring Black history and culture and we are adding specific course and workshops over the month of October. Protective hairdressing style classes is one of these workshops we will run 3 parents/carers and child worksops up untill the October Half Term. There will be a showcase on Thursday 27th October 2022 to celebrate all the work that young people have created over Black History Month. We want to invite all the young people that access our autumn activities and their families to attend the showcase. During the hairdressing protective style class parents/carers & children will be taught different protective hair styles such as Ghana braids, box braids, goddess braids, cornrows, crochet braids, Bantu knots, twists to name a few. These lessons will be really handy as we are heading into the winter months where it is important to protect Afro hair. 

Please note that each ticket or place is for one child and one grown up and the parent/carer is to stay with their child throughout the workshop.

Please note parents/carers will not be able to park in the Staff car park. There is free parking on all the side roads 2 minutes walk from Canada Villa Young People's Centre.
