In 2018 we created a one stop Hub that enables families and single vulnerable people to have a hot meal and access essential services. Every other week we held information sessions together with different services within Harrow and Barnet councils. Among the themes covered were settled and pre-settled status, employment, benefits and health. We also signposted to the relevant local services those that needed it.
We continue to run the Hub and have added a food bank, Romanian Food Hub, during the Covid pandemic. The Food Hub provides families and vulnerable adults weekly access to non-perishable food and links the Hub users not only to core services offered by local authorities but also to services/ opportunities offered by the 15 organisations collaborating through the Romanian and Eastern European Network.
