Overview

Our Youth Theatre Productions class is designed for secondary school students who are passionate about theatre—whether that’s performing on stage or working behind the scenes. This class offers young people a safe and inspiring space to explore their creativity, collaborate with others, and develop practical theatre-making skills under the guidance of industry professionals.

In each project, students take on a variety of roles—actors, writers, directors, designers, and technicians—working as a team to devise, create, and produce their own plays and full-scale productions. From concept to curtain call, participants experience the full journey of theatre-making while building confidence, skills, and friendships.

What to Expect:

  • Theatre Styles & Techniques: Discover a range of approaches, from classical and contemporary to improvisation and experimental theatre.
  • Script & Story Development: Learn the fundamentals of playwriting, characterisation, and narrative, and develop original scripts or adapt existing works.
  • Production Skills: Gain hands-on experience in lighting, sound, set design, props, costumes, and stage management.
  • Collaborative Projects: Work as part of a creative ensemble to devise, rehearse, and produce original theatre pieces.
  • Performance Opportunities: Share your work in showcases and productions, gaining valuable experience performing for an audience.
  • Creative Growth: Build confidence, resilience, and teamwork while developing your artistic voice in a supportive environment.

Why Choose Youth Theatre Productions?

Youth Theatre Productions offers more than just a drama class—it’s a chance to be part of a company. Students develop a deep understanding of theatre-making, collaborate with like-minded peers, and bring their ideas to life in exciting productions that showcase their talent both on and off the stage.
