Overview

Beginner Children’s Swimming Lessons (30 Minutes)

Make a splash with our fun-filled beginner swimming lessons, specially designed for children who are brand new to the water. These 30-minute sessions are perfect for building confidence from the very first splash, with no previous swimming ability required.

Led by friendly, experienced instructors, children will be gently introduced to the water in a safe, supportive environment. Through games, movement, and simple water skills, they’ll begin to feel comfortable, confident, and excited about learning to swim. The focus is on enjoyment, reassurance, and positive first experiences that set the foundation for future swimming success.

Whether your child is nervous around water or simply hasn’t had the chance to learn yet, this beginner session is the ideal starting point.

Session highlights include:

  • A welcoming, child-friendly approach
  • Small steps to build water confidence
  • Fun activities that encourage learning through play
  • Qualified instructors who understand beginner needs

GLL Better

Established in 1993, GLL is the largest UK-based charitable social enterprise delivering leisure, health and community services. Under the consumer facing brand Better, we operate 258 public Sports and Leisure facilities, 88 libraries, 10 children’s centres and 5 adventure playgrounds in partnership with 50 local councils, public agencies and sporting organisations. Better leisure facilities enjoy 46 million visitors a year and have more than 650,000 members.

GLL exists to make community services and spaces better for everyone. In practice, that means investing all surpluses back into providing quality leisure, health and library facilities for the good of the communities where we operate.

Alongside our core leisure and library divisions, GLL runs sport and legacy development, health intervention and education, as well as offering the GLL Sports Foundation, one of the largest independent support programmes for talented young athletes in the UK.

We are always looking at ways in which to improve the services and facilities we offer and ways in which it can contribute positively to the local community.
