Overview

Celebrating African Heritage Through Traditional Textiles
Step into a vibrant world of colour, culture, and creativity! In this hands-on workshop, children will explore the rich traditions of African fabrics and patterns, discovering the stories and symbolism woven into every design.

Inspired by bold prints and timeless styles, participants will design and create their own wearable pieces—such as decorated t-shirts or unique fabric accessories—using authentic African-inspired cloth. Alongside the making, there’ll be lively discussion about the cultural meanings behind the patterns, encouraging deeper understanding and appreciation of African heritage.

  • Traditional African cloth
  • Plain t-shirts
  • Fabric paints and markers
  • Glue, scissors, sewing accessories (where appropriate)
