Our Lunch club was set up in 2013 by a local youth work volunteer who received a 2017 Hidden Hero Award in recognition of her work. Every school holiday, we offer primary school children on free school meals a nutritious two-course meal cooked on the premises and a range of physical and creative activities and games e.g. STEM activities like volcano making, a Black history day and Friday afternoon planting and harvesting at the Grow Project at nearby Totteridge Academy. Each day includes a 2-hour sports session with traditional activities like football, hockey, and basketball along with new sports like American flag football, dodgeball and pickleball. Children are also encouraged to practice their social and team-building skills through helping with preparing and clearing tables etc. There is usually one to two outings per holiday-to e.g. the Science Museum, outdoor activity centres, Christmas shows, the seaside.
HAF spaces are funded by the Department for Education. A four hour funded day is valued at £25.00 per person per day (plus additonal for cost of food). The cost to BACE eligible parents is £0.00.
First four hours are funded for eligible children with a 16 digit e-voucher code and must be booked on barnetyouth. To book and pay for additional hours outside of the HAF/BACE offer, or if you do not have a voucher code, please book via:
PLEASE NOTE YOU MUST HAVE A CONFIRMED HAF/BACE BOOKING BEFORE YOU CAN BOOK THE EXTENDED DAY.
